On 9 October 2023, University of Nottingham Malaysia warmly welcomed about 20 alumni from University of Nottingham UK who paid a special visit to their alma mater. Arriving together in a bus, the alumni were accompanied by Christina Harcus, the Director of Philanthropy, and enjoyed a wonderful morning session at the university’s staff cafe with the management board members.
The alumni were graciously welcomed by Jag Singh, the Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing, and Patrick Joseph, the Registrar. The morning session provided a delightful opportunity for the alumni to reconnect with the university’s current leadership and reminisce about their time on campus.
Joining the discussion were Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr Jason Pandya-Wood, and the Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning, Hazel Melanie Ramos.
Following a pleasant lunch, the group then embarked on a comprehensive campus tour. They explored various parts of the university and were particularly impressed by the newly renovated sports complex, which showcases the university’s commitment to providing top-notch facilities for its students.
The visit concluded with a short talk organised in collaboration with the Career Advisory Office. During this session, the alumni shared their professional experiences and insights with current students, offering valuable advice and inspiration for their future careers before networking with fellow staff and students over light refreshments.
The event was a heartfelt reunion, filled with nostalgia and forward-looking discussions, leaving both the alumni and the current students enriched and inspired.
At the Alumni and Donor Relations Office, we look forward to hosting more of such engaging events in the future. Do not miss out on future alumni-exclusive events by signing up to the UNM Alumni Network today.
