Founded in 1925, the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham has a rich academic excellence and innovation history. As one of the largest pharmacy schools in the UK, with a vibrant presence in both the UK and Malaysia, we are at the forefront of progress in pharmaceutical education and research.
Our journey in Malaysia began in 2005 with the launch of the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme. This pioneering initiative marked the first UK-accredited pharmacy degree offered outside of Europe. This programme grants our graduates direct access to the UK pharmacist job market and remains the longest-running and only fully accredited MPharm programme in Malaysia.
After introducing the BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences programme in 2010, we established the School of Biomedical Sciences, which also offers the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science programme. In 2019, we integrated the School of Biomedical Sciences into the School of Pharmacy to foster more significant interdisciplinary research and collaboration in response to the evolving needs of the global pharmaceutical industry.
Furthering our commitment to providing comprehensive pharmaceutical education in Malaysia, we welcomed our first cohort of Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) students in 2023. This rigorous programme, developed from our renowned MPharm programme, offers a comprehensive pathway to a pharmacy career in Malaysia.
Our commitment to excellence reflects our consistently high ranking in the QS World University Rankings for Pharmacy and Pharmacology. We are proud of our strong performance in research impact, academic reputation, and employer reputation, all of which contribute to the success of our graduates.
