DYMM Sultan Nazrin Shah, Sultan of Perak was conferred with an honorary degree from The University of Nottingham at the graduation ceremony held on 14 July at the UK campus. He is also son of the late Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, who was a university alumnus and an honorary graduate of The University of Nottingham.

The recent Wimbledon and Euro 2016 season set operational research scientists into looking at what happens when the rules of sport are changed or when existing rules lead to unforeseen consequences. They've been assessing how administrators and supporters deal with these situations and if their decision making could be better informed.
