The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) PhD students Chong Yen Yee and Tiong Yong Wei were awarded best oral presenters at the 9th Regional Chemical Engineering Conference on Chemical Engineering, for their presentations on their respective research on producing fuel from bio-oil and bio waste respectively, held in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Description
K. Nagulendran (Nagu), a third year PhD student with the School of Geographical and Environmental Sciences, led a multi-stakeholder exercise involving several hundred participants to identify conservation priorities in Peninsular Malaysia. They have produced a list of 35 ranked conservation issues within seven general themes.

The Vinod Sekhar Incubation Centre (VSIC) was launched on 16 November 2016 at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) by Professor Sir David Greenaway, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Nottingham. VSIC is the fruit of the collaboration between UNMC and Petra Group to provide a platform to facilitate the research innovations to become viable businesses ventures.

Recently, the UNMC Blue Sky team was awarded £5,000 from CASCADE to fund the UNMC Mobile Tutors Project. CASCADE aims to provide funds for Nottingham students to undertake projects that develop their skills, social awareness and employability while making a significant impact on local and international communities.
