Introduction

NURTURE-SEA will be organising a Stakeholder Forum to bring together researchers and other key stakeholders from across Southeast Asia to address the growing obesogenic environment and the disconnect between nutrition, health, and rapid urban development in the region. This three-day event is dedicated to reshaping the trajectory of urban food environment research in Southeast Asia (SEA).

Event Overview

The Principal Pillars of NURTURE-SEA Forum are:

  1. Transdisciplinary Collaboration: This forum will witness the convergence of experts and stakeholders across diverse fields as we strive to dismantle disciplinary silos. NURTURE-SEA is committed to addressing the challenges of urban environments by fostering a collaborative environment among academia, practitioners, and communities.
  2. Holistic Approach: NURTURE-SEA acknowledges the multifaceted nature of urban development, promoting discussions that disentangle the complexities of these interconnected factors. This approach seeks to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of urban challenges and the development of integrated solutions, ultimately working towards healthier, equitable, sustainable, and resilient urban environments.
  3. Knowledge Integration: NURTURE-SEA serves as a hub for the convergence of expertise, creating an environment where multidisciplinary and multisectoral knowledge seamlessly coalesce. By unifying research efforts, we aim to ensure a thorough comprehension of urban challenges in SEA, contributing to the generation of knowledge that fosters the enduring well-being of urban populations and works towards eradicating obesogenic environments.
