UNM and Athena SWAN
First in Asia at the best of our knowledge, it will become the key on-going initiative for UNM in the coming months and years, demonstrating excellence in SET (Science, Engineering and Technology) subjects and become the foundation for individual departments to promote gender equality and work-life balance. UNM is highly enthusiastic to promote better policies to encourage women to advance in career in this male dominated working arena. These efforts will encourage women to balance work and family life especially for women working in SET disciplines.
Being the first institution in Asia to apply for such an award, the committee members are looking at challenges and opportunities and plan for a better future.
