Crops For the Future Research Centre (CFFRC) is a research centre, based here at UNMC, that focuses on the study of under-utilised crops and their related systems. One of CFFRC's research programmes, named CropBase, is concerned with the electronic representation and transfer of knowledge. One of the CropBase programme's objectives is the development of an open-source web-based platform (also called CropBase) which incorporates aspects of social media and knowledge storage/representation, and this is currently in progress. CFFRC is looking to hire three Computer Science students for summer internships to contribute to the further development of the CropBase platform.
Applicants must be well versed in web programming and scripting technologies and techniques (HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL), Linux system use and development, and the inherent open-source development ecosystem. Please send a short application-cover letter (this need-only be the body of your email and one-to-two paragraphs in length) and your up-to-date CV / resume to ben.phear@cffresearch.org by 5pm June 07th 2013.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 5pm Monday 10 June 2013 to arrange an interview.
