The School of Computer Science recently hosted its Induction, marking the start of an exciting academic journey for a new cohort of students. The School of Computer Science Induction, held on 19 September 2024, was filled with informative sessions and warm welcomes, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
Dr. Chen Zhiyuan, the esteemed Head of School, kicked off the event by extending a heartfelt welcome to the incoming new students. She shared the rich history of the school, tracing its roots back to the UK and highlighting its growth and achievements in Malaysia. Dr. Chen, who is also an alumna, shared her experience pursuing her PhD at the university. The new students were then introduced to the staff members. Each staff member took a moment to share insights into their respective modules, research interests, and administrative responsibilities, providing students with a glimpse into the diverse expertise within the school.
Dr. Chen also took the stage to provide a comprehensive overview of the program offerings. She highlighted the various opportunities available to students, including exciting student exchange and transfer programs to UK and China, encouraging them to explore these programs for personal and academic growth.
During the event, Mr. Allen Ren, the Tri-campus Recruitment Manager, also provides in-depth insights into the transfer process to the UK campus.
The Induction event culminated in a celebratory note as Dr. Chen announced and congratulated the new students who were awarded scholarships. This recognition of their achievements underscored the school's commitment to fostering talent and excellence.
