After working two years as a construction engineer and later as the division superintendent for a Canadian construction company, I further my studies at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok with a scholarship from the Japanese government. After completing my Master of Engineering degree in Construction Engineering and Management, I went to UMIST in Manchester to work as a research assistant and completed the Master of Philosophy degree in Civil and Construction Engineering.
After returning to Malaysia in 2003, I worked as construction manager for 4 years before joining the University of Nottingham. I had taught various construction management modules in the department of Civil Engineering and serve in various administrative roles within the faculty.
I have also been appointed as a panel adjudicator with Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (www.klrca.org).
Having worked in the construction industry for over 8 years primarily in large scale civil engineering infrastructure projects, I have developed practical experience in managing construction projects.
