Centre for Renewable Energy

Overview

Centre for Renewable Energy was established to provide the technical support and research infrastructure in the field of the renewable energy. The field of renewable energy includes all types of renewable resources, such as:

  • solar
  • wind
  • sea wave & tide
  • biomass energy

The centre is open to all types of renewable energies with a special interest in technologies suitable for the tropical regions, particularly: solar and solar-thermal applications, biomass, small hydro and wind energies.

This centre is fostering research in different areas of renewable energy that utilises researchers from multidisciplinary backgrounds including: mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering as well as science and social sciences.

The Centre for Renewable Energy has wide collaborations within the University of Nottingham and with local, regional and international partners. The centre has attracted a significant amount of research funding.
