Our courses at a glance:
Prospective students who are interested in the courses offered by the School of Pharmacy could opt to join the Foundation in Science programme at the University of Nottingham Malaysia that allows seamless entry and transfer to their course of choice, subject to meeting course entry requirements.
Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
- 4-year programme fully conducted at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, with the opportunity to exchange to the UK campus for half year (1 semester) while paying Malaysian fees.
- Course content surrounds the sciences of medicines (chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology etc.) and aspects of pharmacy practice (law, clinical pharmacy, professionalism etc.), organised in “Drug, Medicine and Patient” (DMP) modules for enhanced content integration.
- Accredited by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) and Pharmacy Board of Malaysia (PBM).
- Upon completion of studies and the provisionally registered pharmacist (PRP) training, graduates can practice as pharmacists in the community pharmacies or hospitals throughout Malaysia, or join the pharmaceutical industry in roles related to clinical trials, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, production, sales and marketing.
- Candidate interview is required.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences
- 3-year programme fully conducted at the University Nottingham Malaysia, with the opportunity to exchange to the UK campus for half a year (1 semester) while paying Malaysian fees.
- Course content encompasses chemistry, pharmaceutics, biology, pharmacology and physiology.
- Accredited by MQA.
- Upon completion of studies, graduates can take up various roles in the pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical industries - formulation scientist, regulatory affairs, clinical research scientist, production, sales and marketing.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science
- 3-year programme fully conducted at the University Nottingham Malaysia, with the opportunity to exchange to the UK campus for half a year (1 semester) while paying Malaysian fees.
- Course provides a thorough grounding in a range of areas which include pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, and neuroscience.
- Accredited by MQA and Institute of Biomedical Science that allows graduates to register as biomedical scientists in the UK with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Upon completion of studies, graduates can take up various roles in the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries - scientist, regulatory affairs, clinical research scientist, production, sales and marketing.
Master of Pharmacy (Honours)
- 4-year programme (2+2) jointly conducted at the University of Nottingham Malaysia (Year 1 and Year 2) and the University of Nottingham UK (Year 3 and Year 4).
- Course content surrounds the sciences of medicines (chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology etc.) and aspects of pharmacy practice (law, clinical pharmacy, professionalism etc.), organised in “Drug, Medicine and Patient” (DMP) modules for enhanced content integration.
- Aspects of medical prescribing will also be covered throughout the course to prepare graduates to become confident and competent independent prescribers once they complete their foundation year training in the UK.
- Accredited by MQA, the General Pharmaceutical Council UK and PBM.
- Upon completion of studies and the foundation year training, graduates can practice as pharmacists in the community pharmacies or hospitals throughout the UK and Malaysia (after license conversion), or join the pharmaceutical industry in roles related to clinical trials, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, sales and marketing.
- Candidate interview is required.
