Computer rooms are available to all members of the University with some open 24/7.

 

What do computer rooms offer?

  • PCs connected to the University’s data network
  • Multifunctional devices (MFD) offering colour and black & white printing, copying and scanning
  • Wireless access and more specialised equipment such as plotters and audio visual equipments
  • Software applications and more specialist software in some School computer rooms
  • Long opening hours with many computer rooms open 24/7

 

 

Accessing computer rooms

  • Open to all members of the University
  • Access outside core hours is by University Card only
  • You must be prepared to identify yourself (with your University Card) to Security staff if necessary
  • It is important that you do not allow unauthorised people to enter computer rooms (i.e. by holding the door open for them when you have used your card to gain access).

 

 

Using the computers

  • Students and staff will need a valid University username and password to log into a computer
  • Never save data onto the local computers Desktop or Documents and Downloads folders
  • Remember to log off when leaving the computer and take your personal belongings
  • Read the University's Regulations governing the use of library and computer room facilities and services

 

 

Location and opening hours

  • View the location and opening hours of all computer rooms in the University
  • Students must check with their respective schools to determine the availability of School owned computer facilities
