It’s been a very exciting time at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus! We are honoured to announce that alumna DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, officiated the opening of The Tuanku Zara Teaching Centre during the annual visit of senior management and friends from the UK campus. During their visit we also celebrated our 2016 Alumni Laureate Awards and congratulated Shahen Amaratungga from Sri Lanka, who received the Alumnus of the Year Award.
Subsequently, on 15 October, more than 100 people joined us to enjoy an early morning ride in the vicinity of the University for Life Cycle Malaysia 3, raising funds to support education for the disadvantaged. The following week, on 22 October, our School of Biosciences held a reunion at the Grand Millennium Hotel, gathering around 100 alumni for a spectacular evening of sophistication and elegance, while on 5 November our Civil Engineering Department celebrated its 10th anniversary in a fun-filled and enjoyable night out.
We’ve also been busy organising events with alumni who volunteered their time as auction items at the inaugural Benefactors Evening to raise funds to provide education for the disadvantaged – take a look at our article on the event to find out more.
The next edition of our newsletter will be sent in 2017. In the meantime, we’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
