If the ordinary loan item you want is not on the shelf, you can reserve it using NUsearch. Reservations usually take at least seven days to become available.
Reserving a book
You can reserve a book if:
- it’s currently on loan to another user
- it’s an ordinary loan book
- your books are not overdue
- you haven’t accrued charges of RM20 or more in your library web account
- your library account has not expired
Ready for collection
When the item is available, an email notice will be sent to your University email address. The item will be put on hold for you for three days. If you fail to come to the library to borrow the item, the hold will be cancelled, and the item put back in general circulation.
Cancelling a reservation
You can only cancel your reservation if the book is not already on hold for you.
To cancel your reservation, go to your library user account, and click the number beside Hold Requests.
A list of the books that you have reserved or requested for will appear. Click on the underlined number for details of the hold request. Click on Delete to cancel your reservation.
Number of reservations
You can reserve as many books as you are entitled to borrow. For example, if you’re an undergraduate with a loan entitlement of eight items, you can reserve up to eight items at any given time.
