Biography

Anita Chakrabarty is an academic with over two decades of leadership and management expertise in the UK tertiary education context. I specialise in postgraduate and post experience executive education leadership and teaching, including Executive Education and MBA programmes. She is currently the lead for Marketing , Entrepreneurship , Innovation and Sustainability at the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) and was the Director of the MBA programmes prior to this role. She is also a Future Food (research cluster) co-directors. Anita, has a PhD. from the University of Nottingham and two Master's degrees, one in Public Administration (University of Malaya) and another in Marketing (University of Northumbria at Newcastle).

Her research interests is in consumer behavior and marketing with a special interest in sustainability focused cross disciplinary research projects as well as qualitative research. She has worked on digital detox , food environments and waste behaviours . She has also been involved in industry funded projects,and a key member in international grants, especially in cross disciplinary projects. She was pivotal in developing the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Consumer Guideline funded by the World Health Organisation for the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Additionally, she is also a is a HRDF* Certified training practitioner.

My teaching interests are in the area of Marketing and Consumer Behaviour. I teach Marketing Services, Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Management at undergraduate levels. I teach Marketing for the MBA at Malaysia campus . I am also involved in the Executive Education Programmes for the government and various organisations conducted by the school.

Past Research

In the past, i have reviewed trends in the financial services industry, customer experiences while interacting with financial services distribution channels, mall preference behaviour amongst consumers as well as reviewing born-globals in terms of determinants of growth. These research efforts utilised qualitative methodologies.

Future Research

Future research interests include food waste and nutrition choice behaviours by consumers.
