Centre for Interdisciplinary Data Analytics
CIDA is a research centre in the University of Nottingham Malaysia initiated and driven by the Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS). The centre prioritizes its research initiatives in one or more of the established University research priority areas. Specifically, these research initiatives revolve around, but are not restricted to, the key subject area as follows:
- Social Media Analytics and Digital Economy
- Machines Learning and AI Technologies
Mission
CIDA aims to address the rapid growth in demand for data analytics, statistical modelling and simulation to impart novel research initiatives for the university, research entities in science, engineering, and information technology.

CIDA is represented by members from all three faculties, and has two of the biggest technology partners in the area of analytics, Microsoft and SAS, which are facilitating the technical infrastructure and analytics platform.

Projects and Objectives
This centre strives to be the leading research centre in interdisciplinary sciences, data analytics and statistical simulation by:
- bridging scientific approach to practical interdisciplinary solutions
- developing methodologies, alogorithms, modelling and decision science to facilitate interdisciplinary decision making
- generating sustainable resources through industrial ocntracts and strategic partnerships with governmental establishments, international and local research institutions
