PhD Studentship/Research Assistant in Sensory Processing and Somatic Misperception
Applications are invited for a PhD Student/Research Assistant position based within the School of Psychology. The candidate will be working on a project linked to a MOSTI eScience Fund Grant. In addition to receiving a local stipend, successful applicants will be required to undertake an MPhil/PhD degree, the fees for which will be covered by an academic Scholarship. Applicants must possess a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree or Masters in a relevant subject (such as psychology, cognitive neuroscience), an appropriate English Language qualification and evidence of an aptitude for research. This position is for three years (dependent upon performance after the 1st and 2nd years).
Successful candidates will be involved in a research project focussing on multi-sensory integration and sensory misperceptions. The position will be based at the Malaysia Campus. Skills in experimental/cognitive psychology and statistical methods are essential. Knowledge of programming in MatLab and/or prior experience with EEG/ERPs would be advantageous. Successful candidates will be expected to assist academic staff with teaching duties and laboratory demonstration. Candidates are also expected to meet the following minimum requirements:
