University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) academic, Professor Ir Dr Law Chung Lim, was awarded the Research and Application Award on Food Drying and Space Foods during the 6th Food Drying International Conference, and 7th Symposium for Space Nutrition and Food Engineering, that took place from 28 to 30 November 2020 in Wuxi, China.
Due to the current travel restrictions, Professor Law was not able to attend the conference. However, he attended the conference and gave his thank you speech virtually.
In his speech, Professor Law dedicated his award to his research team members, his co-workers, collaborators, Postgraduate students and his mentors.
He also added that he would continue to make contributions and create a positive impact to the research of food drying, food quality and food safety.
Professor Law’s main research focuses on food and bioproduct processing focusing on food quality and safety.

“The world is facing challenges in many aspects, one of the main aspects is the food-water-energy nexus. I hope to continue to make real impact to the food-water-energy nexus especially focusing on topics related to food quality, safety and preservation as well as food process performance in terms of cost effectiveness and energy efficiency. University of Nottingham Malaysia has been given me a lot support and I will continue to work closely with my co-workers and research assistants. With the support from UNM and the team work, I look forward to making more positive impacts to the process industry”
