Nottingham University Business School has a long history of teaching and research leadership in responsible business and sustainable finance, and was among the first UK business schools to champion the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management (PRME). The School continues to be in its fourth cycle as a UN PRME Champion School, and is committed to educating future business leaders to take both an ethical and sustainable perspective on business practices and growth.
All Nottingham MBA students take a core course, Sustainable Decisions and Organisations, that focuses on the role of different business stakeholders in achieving economic and environmental sustainability. A wide range of practitioners are involved and students present their sustainable strategy to a board of business leaders as well as to journalists in a press conference.
Dean of Nottingham University Business School UK, Professor Duncan Angwin said: “Our global ranking at number five illustrates our capacity to deliver critical, contemporary and responsible business education. It acknowledges and rewards our fundamental mission to develop forward thinking leaders who bring ethical, inclusive and creative capabilities to their management practice. Being placed in the top echelon of business schools situates Nottingham as one of a global handful of business schools that deliver advanced management education with a clear view of emerging leadership paradigms for a changing world. In terms of teaching, research and practice, NUBS has been recognised as working at the very pinnacle of its sector while working to influence sustainability as a vital consideration in organisational practice, institutional improvement and governmental policy to empower markets to foster a better world. It is our privilege to support our students, their organisations and their communities to seek better, more sustainable ways of working now and into the future.”
Dean of Nottingham University Business School Malaysia, Dr Lau Chee Kwong, said: “We are very pleased by this recognition in the latest Corporate Knights Better World MBA ranking.
