Dr Teo Wing Leong, Head of School of Economics at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, gave his views on Budget 2021 on several Mandarin media, following the tabling of Budget 2021 in the Parliament of Malaysia on 6 November 2020.
On 6 November, Dr Teo was interviewed by 8TV Mandarin News, where he discussed the proposal to allow withdrawals from Account 1 of the Employer Provident Fund and the prospect of the Malaysian economy in 2021. Link to the recording.
On 8 November, Dr Teo participated as a panellist in a live Mandarin talk show, “What Say You” on TV2. He discussed the overall budget, the proposal for the extension of the loan moratorium for the B40 group, the cash handout to the B40 group and the prospect for the economy in 2021. On 10 November, Dr Teo participated as a panellist in a radio and FB live economic forum in Mandarin, organised by CITYPlus FM. He discussed the economic and budget forecast assumed by the budget, the cash handout to the B40 group and the proposal for the extension of loan moratorium for the B40 group. Link to the recording.
