"We are proud that one of our students was in the winning team of the 5th P&G ASEAN Business Challenge which was aimed at giving students the opportunity to learn about and experience P&G's brand development, marketing strategy and staff development. Students get a chance to propose a marketing plan for one of the P&G brands, but also execute those ideas right away in the real world to assess its business results," said Dr. Kenny Wong, Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Programmes at Nottingham University Business School, UNMC.
The competition was held in two stages. The first stage was at the national level where top student leaders from Malaysia were selected. Students had the opportunity to learn about P&G as a renowned player in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry through sessions with the P&G Malaysia Leadership Team and consumer insights workshop and store visits. Subsequently, the teams prepared and presented their ideas to the P&G Malaysia Leadership Team for their feedback. The participants then introduced their ideas at a key hypermarket chain and shared the final results of the execution of their plans. Team Entrée, represented Malaysia at the P&G ASEAN finals held in Singapore recently.

The business challenge was evaluated based on the criteria of holistic business analysis, strength of strategy, execution excellence and team work. The team members were awarded with a MacBook Air each and an all-expense paid trip to Singapore by Kirby Zhang, Associate Director of Human Resources to compete with the other winning teams from Asean, namely Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam where they clinched the title as the overall winner for the Asean category.
In the second and final stage of the P&G Asean Business Challenge, the winning team was given another case study on an organisation challenge.

“Our presentation was rather interactive as compared to conventional presentation format. We incorporated role play and had a narrator. The audience responded very enthusiastically to our presentation. But the competition was tough but my team members were well prepared and their ideas were very appealing to the judges. We are very happy and proud in winning this competition” said Tan Jing Yang at the prize presentation ceremony.
