The Faculty of Science at University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus Open Day aims to facilitate greater understanding of the courses and the corresponding careers in the sciences field.
The open day, on February 18 will host insightful presentations from lectures from the various sciences schools in the university. Visitors of the open day will also have the chance to meet the lecturers and to see the teaching, research facilities and labs available in the Faculty of Science.
“We hope to explain to students and parents on the various career opportunities that are available in the market as a result of the rapid changes in the area of biosciences, healthcare as well as sophisticated customer needs,” said Professor Peter Mitchell, Dean of The Faculty of Science at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC).
“At UNMC we offer an array of courses in the sciences field such as health, biological sciences, computational sciences and pharmacy and it is imperative that students sign up for courses which lead them to a rewarding career, “ added Professor Mitchell.
The students who enrol in the programmes, learn the latest developments and technology in the field. All programmes offered are identical to those at The University of Nottingham UK.
The University of Nottingham has won several accolades, in the most recent RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) rankings in 2008, the University of Nottingham scored highly in quality rankings covering major disciplines in science, engineering, the social sciences, business and the arts. University of Nottingham ranked 7th of all British universities in the RAE exercise.
Former graduates of UON have been acceptance in renowned institution such as Oxford University for higher studies and gaining employment in multinational companies in Singapore and other places.
