Malaysia Campus enters collaboration with PlatinumEnergy Sdn Bhd

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) has signed a Collaboration Agreement with PlatinumEnergy to develop large scale ultrasound and hydrodynamic cavitation based reactors. These reactors are used to produce chemical products such as biodiesel. Ultrasound and hydrodynamic cavitation based reactors are highly energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Researchers at UNMC are conducting a comprehensive study and investigation on the commercial potential of this technology as a wide range of ultrasound and hydrodynamic cavitation based reactors have already been developed. Senior academics at the university are currently working with the company to meet the specific objectives and to commercialise this technology for a range of applications.

Platinum Energy Sdn Bhd is involved in the commercialisation of technologies in the biofuel and chemicals sector and has developed a commercial business platform for the production of biodiesel from waste and non-food materials using hydrodynamic cavitation technology; and the production of green graphite nanofibre and hydrogen from methane.
