It is with great pleasure that we announce that the English Speaking Union (ESU) of Malaysia will once again be organising the annual Public Speaking Competition in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Debating & Public Speaking (MIDP) and the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
Regional venue sponsors include KDU in Penang & Universiti Sarawak Malaysia (UNIMAS) in Kuching.
The competition is open to all Malaysians aged 16 to 20 at the time of the competition.
All participants will be required to deliver a prepared speech on the themes “Great Artists Have No Country” at the Heats and “The Best Way To Predict The Future Is To Invent It” for the Semi-Finals and Finals.
Participants will be judged on the substance of their speech, expression and delivery.
To prepare the students to take part in this competition, a one-day special Public Speaking Workshop at a fee of RM 100.00 per person (including refreshments) will be held at these locations:

The Heats & Semi-Finals will be held on:
22 April 2018, Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 at the same venues as the workshops in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuching.
The Finals will be held on the 28 April 2018, Saturday at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in Semenyih, Selangor.
All workshop participants will receive Certificates of Participation.
The national champion will win an all-expense paid trip to London to take part in the International Public Speaking Competition held from 14 to 18 May 2018.
All finalists will also receive certificates of merit and book vouchers.
