Assistant Professor Dr Shi Wei Chu has more than 15 years of experience working with individuals with special educational needs. She holds a PhD in Special Education and Diverse Needs and Masters of Education (Special Education).
Her expertise is in special education and diverse needs, focusing on individuals with Neurodevelopmental disabilities Her area of research is on inclusion and supported employment.
Her current research includes Universal Design for Learning in the higher education context.
Past research includes innovative strategies to create sustainable employment for individuals with learning disabilities and assessment of quality standards of supported employment among job coaches and employees with disabilities. She has completed a research under the university's Teaching and Learning Research Grant. The project title is 'Efficacy of Digital Game-based Learning for Transformative Pedagogy & Student Engagement'.
Future research will encompass supported employment and teaching and learning in the university.
