Nine students from the Undergraduate and Master’s degree programmes of the School of Education, University of Nottingham Malaysia competed at the 9th MELTA International Research Conference (MIRCELE). The recent MIRCELE was held on 16th November 2019, at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. The conference serves as a platform for research knowledge and skills exchange in fields related to English Language Education among educators and academics. Presenters at the conference strived for Excellence in Research awards in the following five categories:
The conference comprised presenters from 10 countries including Korea, Indonesia, China, Singapore and so forth. The School of Education delegates competed with presenters from universities worldwide for two categories:
Delegates from the School of Education once again brought glory to both the School and the university by winning several awards. Hanna Qistina binti Hassan emerged as the Silver medallist for the Teacher Trainees/Undergraduates and the Best Presenter of the MELTA-Taylor’s University MIRCELE. The Best Presenter award came with a RM 5,000 scholarship. Two other students, Tiew Jie Yi and Allen Chee Jie Ein were also shortlisted for the Teacher Trainees/Undergraduates category, were shortlisted for the final round. For the Master’s Category, Zhang Hongxiao, from MA TESOL, won the Silver medal. We would like to congratulate all winners and presenters from the School, for their commendable performance and contributions of knowledge development and dissemination in education.
