Establishment of Open-Source Geospatial Lab

The Open Source Geospatial (OS Geo) Lab has been established within the School of Geography, Faculty of Science. This will be the first such facility in Malaysia and aims to help create collaboration opportunities for academia, industry and government organisations in open source GIS which will help to create a sustainable environment for open source GIS in Malaysia. The lab will build up the profile of OS Geo activities in Malaysia and provide opportunities for staff and students to work on various open source research projects. It will also help to establish a coordinating framework between open source GIS research and development facilities in the region.
