For local participants:
Langkawi is about 416 km away from the Kuala Lumpur city. You can board ferries to Langkawi (Kuah Jetty) from Penang, Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis and take a taxi to the hotel where the conference is held. Alternatively, you can consider taking a flight from KLIA2 to Langkawi airport, which will take approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2
Kuala Lumpur has two airport terminals where travellers normally fly into and out of, known as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2, which are 5.3 km away from each other. They are not separate airports, they are just different terminals. KLIA is used by Malaysia Airlines and other international [national] airline carriers, whereas KLIA2 is used mainly by Air Asia. The best way is via train, KLIA and KLIA2 are both on the KLIA Express train route which are connected by a 3-min train journey. There are also other means of transportation between KLIA and KLIA2.
To go Langkawi from KLIA or KLIA2
Langkawi is about 416 km away from the Malaysia Airport, either KLIA or KLIA2. You can take domestic flight go to Langkawi airport, then a taxi to the hotel. Alternatively, you can consider taking a taxi or Grab to go directly to the Langkawi port at Kuala Kedah (recommended), Penang or Kuala Perlis at your own expense.

You will come across a few stalls while making your way through the airport. Maxis, Celcom, U-mobile are some of the largest service provider in Malaysia, offering tourist SIM card with internet access.
