What we are looking for
The School of Computer Science invites strong potential candidate to apply for the available Research Assistant position, in the area of Image Processing, Computer Vision, Neural Network and Natural Resource Management Application.
Applicants should hold, or expect to receive soon, a First Class or high Upper Second Class Honours degree (or the equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject (e.g., Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Mathematics). A master’s level qualification would be advantageous. Candidates should have a good programming skills and strong level of mathematics and statistics. Having experience or good knowledge of image processing/analysis, computer vision and neural network is highly desirable. Candidates should be passionate about learning new technologies and finding unconventional solutions for unconventional problems.
What we do
This interdisciplinary project aims to evaluate the impact of incorporating saliency map into Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to better design a CNN model for biodiversity monitoring and species discovery.
