The School of Computer Science invites strong potential PhD students to apply for the available PhD scholarship (Fees-waiving), in the area of Medical image analysis and Health-related applications.
Applicants should hold, or expect to receive soon, a First Class or high Upper Second Class Honours degree (or the equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics). A master’s level qualification would be advantageous. Candidates should have a good programming skills and strong level of mathematics and statistics. Having experience or good knowledge of image processing/analysis, computer vision and machine learning is highly desirable but not a must (as long as the candidate is able and willing to learn and catch-up).
The position exempts the students from the tuition fees, and would be available for students to start in March/April 2019, or as soon as possible after (subject to visa clearance, when applicable). The student will join the CiH (Computing in Health) research group, within the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham Malaysia.
