Sustainability in the coffee business

Michael Wilson, founder/owner of Artisan Roast, a cafe with outlets in Kuala Lumpur, Glasgow and Edinburgh, spoke on various aspects of the coffee business, including coffee sourcing and supply chains, market trends, coffee retailing, and issues of sustainability, to students on the MBA Sustainable Decisions and Organisations module.

The MBA students were also told about how to discern good quality coffee, the environmental aspects involved in coffee growing and the limitations of certifications. Michael also related personal experiences in setting up cafes in two different countries.

MBA students at NUBS Malaysia benefit from the School’s links with the local and regional business community, and regularly organises interactive sessions between business leaders and MBA students. For more information on NUBS Malaysia's MBA programmes, please email NUBS.MBA@nottingham.edu.my.
