Nottingham University Business School Malaysia welcomed Mr Riaz Shah, Senior Partner from Ernst & Young, UK, who delivered a talk to undergraduate and postgraduate students on 'Being Successful' on October 19, 2011. In the leadership-oriented interactive session, Mr Shah engaged participants in thinking critically about what 'success' meant to them and what they viewed as attributes of successful people, ultimately demonstrating how conscious choices on one's mindset, response and attitude makes all the difference to how an individual is viewed as a leader, and influencing successful outcomes in the process.
About the speaker
Mr Riaz Shah is a Senior Partner at Ernst & Young (EY), the global professional services firm. He became a Partner in 1997 and has had various leadership roles at EY, including Managing Partner of London Assurance and COO-Markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is currently the firm's Global Learning & Development Leader.
He has a BSc (Hons) in Business from the University of Bradford, UK, and is a recent graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
He is an active supporter of several social enterprises, including Kiva.org, Common Purpose International and the Prince of Wales' Mosaic charity.
