Dr Vengadeshvaran Sarma (L) and Dr Maniam Kaliannan (R)
Two members of academic staff from Nottingham University Business School Malaysia received the prestigious Lord Dearing Award for their achievements in enhancing the student learning experience.
Dr Vengadeshvaran Sarma (Assistant Professor of Business Economics and Director of Undergraduate Programmes) and Dr Maniam Kaliannan (Associate Professor of Human Resource Management) each received the Dearing Award during the summer graduation ceremony held in July 2019 at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
The annual Award, which has been running since 1999, recognises staff members' outstanding contributions to enhancing the student learning experience. The judging panel for the Lord Dearing Award consists of the University’s Assistant Pro-Vice Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, the Vice-Provosts for Teaching and Learning from UNNC and UNMC, senior members of staff and officers of the Student Union. A Dearing Award is highly valued within the University of Nottingham, and acknowledges the world-class input of staff which is, on the one hand, supportive and nurturing, but on the other, challenging, creative and innovative.
