Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) Malaysia recently delivered a one-week business module for the 22nd JPA-BMCC Management Development Programme, a collaborative management development programme between the Malaysian Public Services Department (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam - JPA) and the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC).
This is the fourth time NUBS Malaysia has delivered this module in the bi-annual programme, which aims to provide senior government officers opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to the dynamics of modern-day business management systems via training and working with British organisations both in Malaysia and in their parent companies in the United Kingdom.
The training, which took place from 27 February to 3 March 2017, focused on the theme of ‘Forging Cohesion Though Integrity and Sustainability’. The participants were led through interactive sessions that emphasised five key learning areas - leadership with integrity, trust and humility; the importance of sustainability in all initiatives; collaboration and cohesiveness internally and externally; inclusiveness and togetherness; and people development through coaching and mentoring.
NUBS Malaysia faculty members involved in the programme are Dr Eunice Lim, Director of Executive Education; Dr Mohan V Avvari, Associate Professor of Strategic Management; Dr Maniam Kaliannan, Associate Professor of Human Resource Management; Dr Anita Chakrabarty, Senior University Teaching Fellow of Marketing; and Ms Vanitha Ponnusamy, Assistant Professor of Organisational Management.
