Associate Professor Salleh Hassan, Associate Professor of Accounting at Nottingham University Business School Malaysia, was invited to be a panelist at the ACCA-MIA Audit Roundtable this September 2010.
Salleh joined seven other distinguished panelists from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Audit Oversight Board of Malaysia, the Minority Shareholder Watchdog Group, Priority One Consultancy Services, Corston-Smith Asset Management, PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia and ACCA Singapore; to discuss the effective role of audit in light of recent high-profile corporate failures, and its value in identifying threats to a company's viability in view of the global financial crisis. The proceedings and views from the roundtable will be used to develop a roadmap for further research and studies into this area.
The roundtable discussion was facilitated and moderated by Mr Robert Stenhouse (ACCA Council Member and Director, National Accounting and Audit, Deloitte LLP).
Salleh's research interests lie in reporting of business and financial performance including that of corporate governance and CSR. He is a member of the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus' Learning and Teaching Committee and the Business School's Research Committee
