Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland, Australia. The challenge is for doctoral researchers to explain the complexity and relevance of their research to a non-specialist audience in a concise and engaging way. The competition got even more challenging this year when it was moved online due to C0VID-19 pandemic. This temporary move to a virtual setting allowed 10 of our doctoral researchers to present their research in just 3 minutes to a panel of judges in our 3MT® Live! which took place entirely online using Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 24 June 2020. The Winner and Runner Up were selected by a panel of judges drawn from academic and professional services while the People's Choice was voted by our campus-wide community. The Winner will now progress to the video round to compete against the other Nottingham campuses. The overall winner will represent the entire University of Nottingham at the Universitas 21 (U21) Final, also via video, which will be judged by an international panel of industry and academic professionals. |
