The University of Nottingham Malaysia's Faculty of Science and Engineering (FOSE) is dedicated to delivering an outstanding educational experience to our students while also providing creative and innovative solutions to problems faced by the industry and the community. 

The faculty is supported by approximately 175 academic and 50 professional staff with the aim to provide a world-class education with an international learning experience for its students. At UNM, we believe that students are at the heart of everything we do, and we embrace a student-centred approach.  

We pride ourselves in innovative teaching methods and a commitment to cutting-edge, world-class research. Each school offers exceptional opportunities for undergraduates, postgraduates, and researchers. All our programmes are taught in English and the degrees awarded are the same as those in the UK.

What are the admission requirements for the Faculty of Science and Engineering?

The admission requirements depend on the level of the programme whether it’s foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate. Prerequisites for foundation in science and engineering would be a high school diploma, SPM or its equivalent, whilst the undergraduate programmes would require an engineering foundation, A Levels, STPM qualifications or its equivalent.

How long does it take to become an engineer in Malaysia? 

It usually takes 5 years from when you finish secondary school to become an engineer in Malaysia, depending on your higher education journey. At UNM, students will usually take one year for foundation studies and four years to obtain their MEng degree.
